Mullett Buildings

A B Mullett was Supervising Architect of the Treasury at the end of the Civil War. He was assistant supervising architect before that under Isaiah Rogers with whom he had worked and apprenticed in Cincinnati Ohio. A. B Mullett and Isaiah Rogers did not get along well. Their first falling out came while Mullett was working in Cincinnati after which Mullett took about a year off to self train in Europe by touring, observing and formulating his opinions on buildings and design.

A B Mullett Diaries Etc is a collection of two of his diaries, one from this trip to Europe, and one from his visit to San Francisco as Assistant Supervising Architect. The remaining materials in that publication are various letters concerning many of his ideas and work shedding light on his career.
